My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aloha! My name is Makue (Mah-ku-eh), and I come all the way from Kauai, where I was found as a stray and brought to the Kauai Humane Society. Some nice people helped get me transported to PupStarz Rescue in New York so I would have a better chance at finding a forever home.

I am 1 year 9 month old, 55 pounds (as of 1/6) wonderful Whippet/ Pit Bull/ Pointer mix dog with the most beautiful coat and mesmerizing eyes. I love humans and will immediately try to sit on your lap and snuggle against you at our first meeting. I get along well with my two foster dog sisters and follow their lead but I would love to be an only dog too, because I LOVE human attention and am a velcro dog. I want to be attached to my foster mom at all times and love to cuddle.

While I do get along with most dogs, I wouldn't be a good fit in a home with cats or young dogs. I'm not food aggressive at all, and am fine with humans touching me and brushing my teeth. I'm mostly housetrained and will stand by the door if I need to go out. And my leash walking is so much better than when I first came to New York.
