This helps El Paso County Canine Rescue with pet care costs.
Tas is ready to find his furever home already! His siblings were adopted and he's been waiting since mid November for his people to take him home.
He is an almost 7 mo heeler mix (the shelter said hound or shepherd mix and my dog scanner app says he has Ibezian Hound in him!) Tas is an old, grumpy soul in a young dogs body! He growls at new dogs until he's gotten used to them, then he's fine. He currently lives with 3 other foster puppies and 2 adult fosters and they all get along great. Tas would be fine as an only dog, but would also do okay with another dog once they get to know each other. He does protect his food from his foster siblings, so will need to be fed separately. He is potty trained and uses the dog door like a champ!
His current foster home is pretty chaotic (with dogs), so I think he would love to have a little less chaos and more peace and quiet. Tas loves to have his head scratched and get as much of the loves as you want to give him. He is a bit nervous on walks, but that is only because he hasn't been out in the world much. Tas does enjoy the walk, however, he just needs to build a little confidence. When he doesn't feel like playing with the other pups, he keeps himself entertained by throwing a toy up in the air and chasing it! He will need someone willing to work with him on his dog greeting skills and offer confidence and support for him. Given a little patience, he's gonna be the bestest boy! Can you give this boy his perfect home?
