My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/
We must have an application to move forward.

In foster in Tumwater, WA ! His age is a guestimate. He could be 3 years or so? He is a very VERY SUPER affectionate dog. He loves to play with dogs and absolutely ADORES affection from any humans! If you want a cuddler/snuggler he is your dog!

He has not lived with children in rescue, but has met children as young as three and wagged his tail and wanted to lick them (not obsessively just to say hello) and was very affectionate as he has been with every human he has ever met. He is very quiet and has rarely barked, but when the children left he did whine, you could tell he was sad to say goodbye to them. We haven’t had him meet a dog he did not like. Yes some dogs he just says hello and that’s it but nearly all of them he LOVES to play with. He met a small 12 lb dog who growled at him telling him to stay away and he was not at all aggressive back

When his foster had 8 people visiting he went up to each person to say hello he wants to greet everyone and was SO happy to see them. Its so adorable, he literally will go up to each and every person when more than one visits and make sure to thoroughly greet them with his tail wagging tons and just being the SUPER happy and affectionate dog he is. He loves meeting new people big and small and new dogs too. It is not a requirement our dogs get to be on the fur-niture but Scooby does love to be if you do allow that. If you want a cuddler/snuggler he is your dog. He loves belly rubs, scratches but will give you space and doesn't require that continually.

Please apply now! You can always email us with any questions, give us your number and good times to call if you wish.

SCOOBY is a big boy... 75#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...but he could be as young as 3 we honestly do not know?

He is a such a major lover and super wonderful dog. His ears and the way he is makes us think he's got to be part hound! His body stance, shape, fur make us think he is part boxer?> He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but likely too exuberant with small dogs.

He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog or great as an only dog. He loves everyone and just wants to say hello and play. He is doing well in the house in foster in Tumwater and loves to be near his humans. He loves squishy squeaky toys, elk horns and other toys. He has been leash-trained and loves to go on walks. Unlike most dogs he doesn't seem to mind the rain. After he gets rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks pretty well on the leash.

We do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will want to chase. He seems to have a prey drive (his foster has rabbits and deer that visit) and he doesn’t seem to be a dog that would ‘leave those alone

Scooby would be great with a family with children. Smaller children would possibly get knocked down during playtime? although the younger children he has met he just wagged his tail and gave kisses! We have NEVER seen any aggression whatsoever, with any human or any dog no matter their size. He does tend to get excited when he FIRST meets a new person or dog, but typically that is just tons of tail wagging and kisses!!! Yet please take that into consideration when meeting him and know he will calm down!

Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention.

At The Pet Works, we set up the dogs in the groomers station. At Tractor Supply it is in the back west side of the store (you can ask at the front when you enter!)

Please do apply and you can visit the dog with the foster so you still get to meet/adopt even if you can't make it to an event.

We have a few volunteers and also some dogs aren't fostered in Olympia, WA. They could be in foster in Seattle, WA. Hence, not all of our dogs/pups will be at every event. So please apply:

More about this rescue

We used to call ourselves Shayne's Rescue as we used to rescue dogs. Now, we are Shayne's Fosters as we foster TX rescue pups & dogs.. We assist several TX rescuers where shelters kill 80-99% of what comes in besides the millions and millions of strays on the streets. Hence, we foster for TX rescues who do impeccable jobs of vetting, quarantine all of their pups/dogs and send up the best dogs we have ever met. All have a health certificate prior to transport (vet visit). We work super hard volunteering and we can always use more assistance from volunteers!

Please do apply. We have so many dogs and puppies available.
This application we always see, for our long term partner Pet Central SATX Rescue.
