My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lillian, a gentle and adventurous soul looking for her perfect match! Lillian is the ideal companion for anyone who loves the great outdoors. Her favorite thing to do is go on hikes and explore new places, making her the perfect adventure buddy. While she has a bit of energy, she’s not overly energetic—she strikes a perfect balance between playfulness and calm.

Lillian is a good traveler and does well in the car, though she rides best when buckled in with a short tether to prevent her from crawling into the front seat. While she may take a little time to fully connect with her human, she thrives when she’s engaged in training and shared adventures. These activities will help her form a strong bond with her adopter.

At her core, Lillian is intelligent, quick to learn, and eager to please. She thrives in an environment where she can be mentally challenged, and she’d love to find someone who is excited about training her. Whether it's learning new commands, working on obedience, or even teaching her fun tricks, Lillian will be up for the challenge! She’s always ready to show off her smarts, and with the right guidance, she’ll quickly become a well-behaved and loyal partner.

Because of her herding instincts and energy, Lillian would do best in a home with active individuals. She loves having a job to do, whether it's fetching, agility, or just being part of your daily routine. She has a lot of love and enthusiasm to share, and in return, she’ll make sure your life is filled with fun and excitement.

Though she’s done well in public settings, Lillian may become a bit overwhelmed in busy, high-traffic areas. However, with patience and time, she’ll warm up to new experiences. Once she feels comfortable and has made a connection, Lillian loves to show her affection by curling up with you and showering you with kisses.

Due to her breed and energy, she is best suited for a home without small children, as her herding instincts may lead her to nip or herd in play.

Lillian would likely do best with dogs who have respectful play styles and aren't consistently in her face. She’s not a fan of rough play and prefers companions who understand her boundaries. She's shown that she can take appropriate corrections and may even enjoy a furry adventure buddy, but would also be happy as a solo pet!

If you're looking for a loving companion who enjoys adventures and is ready to create lasting memories with you, Lillian just might be the perfect match!

As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.

To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
