My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shamrock! Shamrock is a 16-month-old bundle of joy and brains currently enrolled in the Hope Dog Prison Program, where he’s proving to be the teacher’s pet (literally). This playful, energetic boy is eager to learn and already aces commands like sit, down, stay, come, off, wait, kiss, and even go pee! He’s also mastered the art of taking treats with the softest mouth and hasn’t shown a destructive side—unless you count obliterating squeaky toys during a fierce game of tug. Shamrock loves woodland walks, swimming, and chasing his squeaky ball like it’s his job. He’s a sucker for affection, loves to show off his smarts, and is highly food-motivated (treats are his kryptonite!). While he can get a little barky and excited meeting new people or dogs, he’s making great strides in socializing. He’s learning to appreciate calmer doggy friends, especially the laid-back ladies. Shamrock thrives with structure and would do best with someone willing to keep building his social skills. If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy, trainable sidekick who’s ready to steal your heart (and your snacks), Shamrock’s your guy!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
