My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Volunteers who know Lovey think that she would probably be the perfect buddy to help you start or refine your meditation self-care practice this new year! As you learn to still your body and mind, and breathe deeply, gentle Lovey will make an excellent helper to sit nearby quietly and encourage your peaceful contemplation.

Sweet little Lovey came to the shelter when her owners could no longer care for her, and she is dreaming of her FUREVER home! She envisions gentle pets and kind voices, a secure home with a bed indoors, yummy food and plenty of grace and patience as she learns to trust her new family. Lovey’s volunteer friends have been delighted to watch her blossom during her time in the shelter. Here’s what some of them had to say about her:

“I took Lovey and her kennelmate out to a play yard this morning. In the kennel Lovey was a little nervous, but allowed me to leash her. She followed her kennelmate to the yard. In the yard, her kennelmate came up for snuggles and Lovey gently did as well. She seemed to enjoy gentle scratches to her chin and when her kennelmate was sitting near me, so did she! She`s a sweet, shy girl with so much potential! I know she will open up more and more with continued love and patience!”

“Lovey is a sweet girl who`s learning that leashing up is okay! This week when I took her back from the yard, she was wagging her tail and enjoying some petting. What a good girl!”

When meeting other dogs in playgroup Lovey is timid and shy; she’d like to meet any potential furry roommates before heading home. She shares her kennel politely with a similar-sized dog here at the shelter and she may learn from a confident dog in a future home.

If you’re looking for a sweet young pup to help you slow down, breathe deeply, and count your blessings this year, Lovey is the girl for you! Come meet her today!
