Maximize the love in your life by bringing home Max! He`s a two-year-old, 8-pound Domestic Shorthair cat who came to the shelter after being left on someone`s porch and was welcomed into their home for a temporary sanctuary. While Max was there, a lot was learned about him! He is a friendly and playful boy who enjoys the company of other cats, but he does take a little time to warm up to new people. Toys are his favorite icebreakers and they help him feel comfortable. When he`s not playing, Max is a quiet and independent boy who likes to roam around his space and find warm places to snuggle up. Max would love a home with other cats, but dogs are a little bit too energetic for him!
Max is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him at The Babinski Foundation in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 to 5:00 PM!

We strive to ensure a safe, healthy, and loving environment that will provide temporary shelter for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals and to find each animal a new and prosperous home.
The Babinski Foundation is a private 501c3 animal shelter located in Pequot Lakes, MN. We are a safe place to surrender dogs and cats. We also are a stray drop-off facility for stray cats and dogs.
OUR STORY
The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
