Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Magic!
Magic is a very sweet pup looking for a foster or forever home. He has been living in boarding kennels with his five siblings for several months and is ready to find a loving family to help him thrive.
Magic is unique—his front left paw has a lucky single toe! He does favor this leg when he walks. While he can be timid when out on a leash, with the right experiences and a patient family, he will build confidence and blossom into a wonderful companion. Magic would do best with an experienced foster or adopter who can guide him through training and help him overcome his shyness.
He shares a kennel with his sister Licorice, and though they get along well, do to their size and the size of the litter they have shown some resource guarding behavior that may need attention.

About the Belgian Malinois and German Sheprador Mix
Belgian Malinois Traits:
Size: Medium to large, agile, and strong
Personality: Intelligent, loyal, and protective
Roles: Excel in police work, search and rescue, and obedience training
German Sheprador Traits:
Size: Medium to large, versatile build
Personality: Loyal, adaptable, and eager to please
Roles: Wonderful family pets and skilled working dogs
This combination results in a highly intelligent and versatile dog, blending the loyalty and work ethic of the Belgian Malinois with the adaptability and eagerness to learn from the German Sheprador.
Care & Training
Training & Socialization: Early training and exposure to new environments, people, and animals are essential. Positive reinforcement techniques work best.
Exercise: Magic is a high-energy dog and will thrive with regular walks, runs, or play sessions. Mental stimulation through training or puzzle games is also vital.
Grooming:
Brush his coat weekly to manage shedding.
Regularly trim nails, clean ears, and brush teeth for overall health.
Bathe as needed with gentle dog shampoo.
Health Considerations
Bloat (Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus): Large, deep-chested dogs are at risk for this condition. Feeding smaller, frequent meals and avoiding vigorous activity after eating can help reduce the risk.
Obesity: A balanced diet and exercise are critical to maintaining Magic’s health. Obesity can lead to joint issues and other complications.
Breed Disclaimer
Magic’s breed mix is based on DNA testing of one sibling and observations by rescue volunteers. His size, appearance, and traits may vary. The information provided is intended to guide potential adopters but does not guarantee specific genetic makeup.

We require a foster or adoption application to qualify to foster or adopt our animals. We do check your current veterinary reference and landlord approval if renting. The next step is a "meet and greet" with all family members and/or household occupants, and current pets. Upon approval, we offer a "trial adoption" period that allows adopter to make sure of a good fit for both the dog and family. Adoption is final when adoption contract (different from application) is filled out and signed, and adoption fee is paid. Our adoption fees range from $75 - $300 (puppies) currently, but are subject to revision if our veterinary costs rise.
