My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ryder is a delightful young Husky with sparkling brown eyes and a precious pink nose trimmed in black..... dreaming of home. This smart, playful canine hopes to win your heart with his lovable personality and charming appearance. He's a sociable dog who adores people, seems dog friendly and has done ok with cats. Like many Huskies, Ryder enjoys sharing his "Husky talk"... adding to his charm.
He loves long walks and his energetic nature shows he thrives on physical activities that engage both his body and mind. He is an adventurous spirit who loves exciting journeys... whether a hike or a simple stroll, Ryder is ready for an adventure with you.
Ryder would flourish in a home with experienced Husky lovers who understand the breed's needs and characteristics. His personality is as vibrant as his appearance and he hopes to share his abundant love and affection with a forever family.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
