My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hector, a goofy, playful lab mix who is looking for the perfect family. He loves his toys and will playing fetch for as long as you’ll let him and entertaining himself with toys when you need a break. With no signs of resource guarding observed, I had no problem taking toys from him.

An active boy, he loves hikes and going on adventures. He’a a big sniffer and comes alive one he catches a scent trail. While at first, he is strong on leash, after burning some energy, he settled in very nicely although a harness is recommended. Throughout his walks, he checks in quite frequently, which is a great sign for training purposes. In true lab fashion, he loves water and immediately wanted to go in for a swim, despite the 30 degree weather.

During his daycation, he passed several dogs and met a dog through a crate. There was only positive body language with relaxed tail wags. When he passed barking dogs, he was curious but unbothered. A small off-leash dog chased us, and while he wanted to meet it, he redirected well, and we kept it moving.

He loved getting attention from the kids who came up to pet him, mostly focused on getting pets and sniffing them. He was a total gentleman and didn’t jump on them.

He was very quiet during his daycation, and even though he didn’t love being in the crate, he never barked. Hector would love an active family to mentally and physically enrich him.
