My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Bushel and I was born in August of 2024. So as you can see, I'm new to this world and I'm slowly learning that it's not so scary! I still approach most things with caution, but I quickly warm up if you show me it's safe. Right now, I live with a big fur sister, and she helps me with confidence.  I'd love to be in a home with another pup so I can continue to learn courage, but if I can't have a sibling I'll just need a little extra patience.
No shortage of love and affection here though. I love toys and I'm so good at keeping myself busy playing. I love every person and every animal, and when they play with me I'm SO excited! I love treats and I'm told that means I'm also really trainable. Because I'm so young, I'm still working on things like going potty outside and how to walk on a leash, but I know I can learn those things! I'm good in the car and I sleep in my kennel all night without making a peep.
My foster mom's favorite thing about me is how gentle I am! Even when I get really excited, I still play gently and I just want your love. Do you have some extra love to share with me? If so, come meet me! I can't wait to play and learn together!

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
