My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I am Scooter! Have you seen my cute little tongue? I stick it out a lot because I do not have any teeth. That does not slow me down, though - I can eat canned and dry food like any other cat.
I am super social, and I will always trot over and greet you with a prrrrt! My favorite things to do include eating treats, getting wild with catnip, playing with string toys, sunbathing in the window, and napping next to you.
I am a very good boy who uses the litter box, scratches the scratching post, and sometimes will walk right across you to get to the sunny spot. I will sleep in the big bed on that extra pillow if you let me, and I promise I will not disturb you.
I had to have my teeth removed because I had stomatitis, so I will not need any additional dental care!
I came in with my brother Skeeter, and it would be nice if we could go to our forever home together, but we can be separated, too.
I am good with dogs and other cats, too! If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationNovember 30, 2024, 6:13 am

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
