My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I`m Aster. I may be a bit shy at first, but give me some time, and I`ll be your loyal friend. I`m independent, so I don`t need constant attention, but I`m also gentle and mellow, perfect for a calm household. I`ve got a sweet disposition that`s sure to win you over, and once I feel safe, I`m quite friendly and cuddly. I promise to be a quiet companion, always there but never intrusive. I`m just looking for a kind soul who understands that everyone, even cats, need a little time to open up. Adopt me and you`ll gain a loyal, loving friend who will always be there for you, through thick and thin.

More about this shelter

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
