My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Herbie is 7 years old. He is very calm in his kennel (or should we say sad & depressed) but he LOVES playtime, and absolutely loves people. He listens very well and knows basic commands

We believe he will do best with little dogs as he lived with a pug. Kids 12+ as he can play rough. No kitties for Herbie though.

Herbie LOVES to ride in a car, is very food motivated, is very well potty trained, loves cuddles, and is just a good good boy.

He’s been in and out of the shelter for years. He was originally transferred to us from Stevens Swan Humane Society because he was getting overlooked there (and had been there a long time! 😔). He was adopted from us, and now returned. Let’s get this guy a permanent home. ❤️

More about this shelter

The Lewis County Humane Society is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which owns and operates a no-kill animal shelter on the Pine Grove Rd in Glenfield, NY. That shelter is contracted with the townships in Lewis County to house dogs brought in from the townships by the dog control officers. The shelter also houses homeless cats from the county.
