Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This friendly stray tuxedo cat nicknamed “Buddy” was living outside at a Buddhist Temple with a colony of mostly feral cats. In October a volunteer noticed that Buddy had an eye infection and apparent upper respiratory infection. Buddy was taken to a vet and was prescribed medication for his eye and his URI. Buddy has since recovered and is being fostered by a volunteer..
Buddy’s age is unknown but a vet estimated his age is around 4 years old. Buddy is a big cat and he eats a lot. He has gained at least 2 pounds since taken in and currently weighs around 14 pounds. He is talkative and likes to rub against the volunteer’s legs, and head butts his fist when offered. He follows the volunteer closely and sits in his lap, making biscuits and purring. He can be picked up without a struggle unless putting in a carrier sometimes. He will allow petting a few times but then nips. He also sometimes “attacks” the volunteer’s leg. Buddy and the volunteer’s other 2 cats don’t get along, but with a "slow" and "patient" introduction, he might be able to co-exist with other cats. He might get along with dogs. Buddy likes to play and will chase and jump after his cat dancer wand. He is very entertaining.
Buddy has been fixed and one of his ears was tipped. He has recently gotten the FVRCP vaccine. His blood and urine tests showed no issues, other than he did test positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). https://www.saveacat.org/blog/can-fiv-cats-live-with-other-cats
His fecal test came back positive for tapeworms and he received medication for that.
He’s a good boy, and just needs to find the right home.
