Reese, Luna and Bonnie were all owner surrendered on 11/5/24 when the owners could no longer care for them. They are all about a year old at the time of surrender. Reese is a pretty easy-going girl who does great with her sisters but is a bit unsure about the other cats here at MCHS. She lived with 2 dogs in her previous home and was OK with that. She does great with the volunteers here at MCHS. Reese is now spayed and current on shots. She has tested neg for feline leukemia/FIV. We are looking for an indoor only home for Reese. The adoption fee of $80 is SPONSORED and a pet carrier is required at the time of adoption. To meet Reese or any of our cats, go to mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our online application. We will review and get in touch to set up an appointment. We are located at 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN. We are just off of I90 via exit 180B to 218 SOUTH, just past our local airport. Thanks.

For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
NOTE: The Shelter address does not register correctly on Google maps. Our Shelter is east of the Charter cable office in Austin MN. This is off of Hwy 218 south - our shelter is east of the highway just off the eastern tip of Oakland Avenue. The official address is 101 22nd Street SE
