Affectionate - Gentle - Loveable

Chernobyl is one of the most affectionate and gentle cats I've ever met. With his sleek, shiny black long fur, he's as soft to the touch as he looks (and enjoys being brushed). When you first meet him, he might seem a bit wary, but once he warms up to you, he'll reveal his true nature as the sweetest companion. He never gets upset, doesn't chew on things (though will give the occasional love bite), and his favorite thing to do is gently head-butt your hand for affection - a habit that's absolutely heart-melting. He's also a lap-cat at heart, often hopping onto your legs to stay close. He is happy to accept all the pets and cheek rubs that you can offer. He's also very playful
with other cats, and very open to making friends with calm dogs.

Our adoptions coordinator will verify your application information, and someone from our team will meet with you at the lounge to introduce you to your potential forever friend. We adopt out based on the best match for pets, not on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Rescue and Relax is a Pittsburgh nonprofit animal rescue. We operate with a dedicated group of volunteers and foster homes, caring for homeless animals from across Western Pennsylvania until they can be placed in loving forever homes. Our cat lounge is home to between 15 and 20 adoptable cats at a time.
