Gideon has spent some time in foster care. Here is what his foster has to say:
"Gideon is a highly adoptable, well mannered pup. He is very well behaved around my three children, aged 2, 4, and 8. He has exhibited no resource guarding with toys or food. He isn’t especially food motivated but he did take his medication well and has been comfortable enough to eat two meals here so far.
Gideon needs a house with NO cats, as he will chase and bark at them. We don’t have other dogs in the house, but I did see him excited to see another dog while at MAS. We have not observed him being very vocal, except at night in the crate and at our cat.
His first night, he wasn’t thrilled about getting in his crate, he whined and barked for about 20 minutes. But then he settled down and slept well through the night. He has a ton of energy and loves being outside! He sometimes likes treats and will sit and lie down if you ask him while holding a treat!
Gideon is absolutely gorgeous. He has striking ice blue eyes, a mostly deep brown coat, and brown and light tan speckle spots all over! He has big floppy ears and a slight curl in his tail. He is medium to large size at 52lbs. He is very well mannered on a leash unless a critter walks by then he is quite strong and will run after cats and critters, so he will need a good harness and heavy duty leash.
I believe he used to live in a home with kids and possibly received some training. He seems to be house broken and does indicate when he wants to go outside by standing at the back door. He would be very happy with an active family with children who loves the outdoors and has no cats."
