My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet MAX!
Max is a 5 yr old, 86 lb Lab X. He`s also known a s a gentle giant! He is the biggest love!! He loves everyone! He`s great with cats! Good with other dogs and kids!!
He is a dream to walk on leash. He wiggles and wags his tail the whole time! He also LOVES to play fetch! He`ll even drop the ball for you.
He and his brother Jax were surrendered together. Jax is only one and has only known life with his big brother, Max. They are the most amazing duo at playing fetch and will bring the ball back and drop it at your feet! So, for their sake, we are hoping someone will be willing to open up their hearts and home to both these wonderful, fun-loving boys!
Their other BF was a cat! So, if you have a cat or cats, tell them to apply! The boys will be all the happier to start their new best friend circle of trust!
Once you meet Max you will instantly fall in love!

More about this shelter

The Salem Animal Rescue League (SARL) was formed in 1992 with the goal of rescuing 50 stray and unwanted animals in the Salem, NH area. During that year, SARL rescued a total of 157 animals, affirming the need for an alternative to traditional municipal animal control. SARL's history is one of community interaction with police, town government and the people of the community. Today, the Salem Animal Rescue League rescues and adopts close to 800 dogs and cats per year.
