Meet Indy, a 5-year-old Basset mix with boundless energy, looking for his perfect country forever home. He’s an adventurous spirit who needs plenty of space to roam and explore—ideally in a location where his signature hound howls won’t disturb the neighbors (be sure to check out his video!). Indy can be a bit of a Houdini, so he’ll need a secure fence to keep him safe or a family with a very watchful eye. Indy is housetrained, loves long walks, and is always eager to be the center of attention. He gets along well with other dogs of a similar temperament and would do best in a home with older children, as his high energy could be a little overwhelming for little ones. A true pro at belly rubs, Indy will gladly entertain you with tricks for treats! He’s a quirky, lovable guy with a heart of gold, and he’s sure to be your best friend. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous, and sweet companion, Indy is the dog for you! Contact BROOD today to begin your adventures together. His adoption fee is $250.00.
**Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions). Our adoption application is on the BROOD website at https://brood-va.org/adoptionapp/. We adopt to residents of Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, DC, Delaware, and southern Pennsylvania. Do not apply to adopt from BROOD if you live in another state. We require a virtual home visit and a veterinary reference. The age of BROOD dogs is an estimate, as very few come with exact age records. 03/15/2025
