Here's what the humans have to say about me:
You could be the Bert to this Ernie! Ernie, a two-year-old, 57.5-pound Lab mix, deserves a loving and stable home after a difficult past. This sweet boy was brought to The Babinski Foundation by The Retrievers, an organization dedicated to rescuing lost and stray dogs.
Ernie had been living in the woods, too scared to approach anyone, for months. The Retrievers displayed incredible patience and dedication until they got Ernie to safety. Once rescued, Ernie immediately melted into his rescuer`s lap for pets in relief.
Ernie was quite shy but loving when he arrived at the shelter. With lots of time and socialization, he`s opening up! He now jumps up for hugs and kisses, wags his tail like crazy, and sits so nicely for a treat or a pet. Ernie will do so well with a gentle family who will love him as much as he loves them (which is to say, a lot)!
Ernie is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him at The Babinski Foundation in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 to 5:00 PM!

OUR STORY
The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
