My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nutmeg is a sweet and spunky little girl with a personality as warm and inviting as her name. This adorable bundle of energy is always ready for her next adventure, whether it’s chasing after toys, exploring the great outdoors, or simply being your shadow around the house. With her expressive eyes and playful spirit, Nutmeg effortlessly brings joy and excitement to every moment. She’s the kind of pup who can turn even the simplest of days into something special, and her affectionate nature ensures you’ll always feel loved.

Don’t let her petite size fool you—Nutmeg is full of curiosity and courage! She’s quick to learn, eager to please, and thrives in an environment where she can be part of the action. After a day of fun, she’s equally content to snuggle up by your side, making her the perfect balance of adventure and affection. If you’re looking for a loyal, lively, and loving companion to add a little spice to your life, Nutmeg is ready to fill your days with laughter and love.

Additional adoption info

The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application (applicant must be at least 23 years of age). Once your application is received a volunteer will contact you to discuss your application. All references listed will be contacted, along with a call to your veterinarian to make sure your current/former pets are/were up to date on all vaccinations. We also complete a background check and home visit will be performed. Once all that is complete, and application is approved, we will arrange meet and greets with our adoptables that may be a good fit for your family and lifestyle. If a perfect match is found, an adoption contract will need to be signed, along with an adoption fee.

All of the above steps are then reviewed by the Chi-Town Pitties, Inc. Board for final approval. Once your application is approved by the Board, we will move forward with scheduling adoption interactions with potential dogs that are a good fit for you and your family.

More about this rescue

We are a small 501c3 nonprofit rescue, committed to leading with our heads rather than our hearts, to help quality dogs find quality homes.

We work closely with area shelters to get as much information as we can about the dogs we take in so we can be as prepared as possible to provide for their needs as we place them in well-matched foster homes. If you would like to join our team of fosters, expect us to have a close ongoing relationship with you as you help your pup get ready for their permanent home.

If you are looking to adopt, expect us to get to know you, too, so we can help you find the dog that will thrive best in your home situation. Like big dogs in general, pit bull type dogs tend to have big personalities, and are an athletic bunch (they even power nap). They aren’t right for every owner, but not every person should be allowed behind the wheel of a Maserati either.

Wondering if a pittie is right for you (and if you are right for them)? Talk to us!
