I will be your bodyguard, if you’ll be my long lost pal.

I’ll call you my family, and family when you call me, you can call me Al.

Al will seriously be your bodyguard - he loves to sleep right next to (or on) you, and will follow you around the house. Is he an effective bodyguard, you ask? Al thinks so. He is very sleek and handsome, and has been caught staring in the mirror more than once, so he knows it, too. He likes to chat, but he won’t meow your ear off. He also likes looking out windows, loves a good scratch pad, and he *really* loves a good nap, especially after his shift at his second job at the biscuit factory. A little catnip doesn’t hurt now and then, either.

Al was rescued with dental issues and is in need of surgery. In lieu of an adoption fee, we would be thrilled for a potential adopter to provide a larger adoption donation and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible.

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.

By appointment only. We offer to drive prospective adoptive prospects to the foster home. We also deliver pets to their new homes.

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
