My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi I'm Augustus, a perfect mix of pitty, poodle and super mutt. I'll probably grow to be around 30-40 lbs and even though I'm a Doodle, I do shed and I have short hair. My mom was pregnant with me and my siblings in a scary shelter when she was saved by CAWs. My foster did a DNA test, so we know a little bit more about my breed. I may be the last of my litter to get adopted but I am the sweetest of the bunch and I am patiently waiting... I just know that my perfect family is out there.

I just love being around people and other dogs and I'd love an active family who loves spending time outdoors, running around in the snow, playing in the rain, or just enjoying a good game of fetch. I'm working hard on my house training but I'm gonna need a patient and loving family who’s ready to help me learn the ropes and include me in all their adventures.

Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped and vaccinated. CAWS will cover all of the first year of puppy vaccines and their spay/neuter at 6 months of age. His adoption fee is $300. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
