Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Zen is currently at Petland in Rome. Go to the store to meet this great kitty if you are interested In possible adoption. You may want to call and ensure this cat hasn't been adopted beforehand. Petland: 1600 Turner McCall Blvd, Rome, GA 30161 (706) 608-8765 adoption fee: 150
Zen was adopted and has recently returned to our shelter. She wasn't real happy about being back with us and having to go in a kennel, but she has begun to tolerate the situation. She is still a sweet girl and loves attention. We truly hope that she doesn't have to be with us very long. If you'd like to meet adult Zen, please let us know.
PAWS County had 2 sickly Moms and 4 babies all turned in together. No one was sure who was the actual mom of they were a combination of two families, we had no information to go off of except there were 6 sickly kittens who needed help and needed to leave the shelter. So we took in the entire crew in order to get them healthy, socialized and fully vetted until they get their permanent, indoor living home.
Zen, like the other "Z" babies from this litter have just been let out from their kennel and are running around in our adoption room. They are getting adjusted to being with other cats besides their litter as well as people wanting to pick them up. Because they were born outside of a home, they tend to run from us. They couldn't do this while in a kennel, so they are used to being petted and loved. With more space, they make a game of it. Once they are caught or if they are picked up while sitting still, they are just fine. They don't mind being held or loved. When they go to their home this will be something that should be known that they will need to be acclimated to not only the home, but people wanting to play with them. Of course, we will continue to interact with them and this is going to improve each day. When a person isn't trying to get their picture or pick them up, they are running, playing and living the energetic kitten life. Zen, unlike her siblings gets a little upset when other kittens get in her space. She growls, but doesn't bite. She doesn't like to rough house as much of her siblings or the others in the room. Though she does love to play. Want to get some steps in while giving a kitten a new home? Come and meet

Additional adoption info
Our kitties are ALWAYS spayed/neutered and vaccinated before we put them up for adoption.
The adoptee will need to fill out an application and be approved, then they will be contacted regarding setting up an appointment to meet our available cats and kittens. If we feel it necessary, we may request a home visit. We want to make sure the adoption is a good fit for both owner and pet.

More about this rescue
Floyd County has the 3rd largest intake of cats in the state, including all Atlanta-area shelters. Floyd Felines was created to stop the weekly euthanasia. We pull sick cats and young kittens out of Floyd County Animal Control, now known as Public Animal Welfare Services, and take them to our private shelter where they are able to get necessary attention. We also pull hundreds of healthy, adoptable cats and kittens to be transported to Northern rescue partners to have higher chances of adoption. This work opens kennels at animal control so that it is no longer required to euthanize for space.
We also have a working cat program, where we match up “feral” cats to approved, outdoor homes where they can control the mice and snake population. These cats are usually some of the first to be euthanized at shelters, so we are thrilled that we are able to provide hope for their futures.
