My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Bella: A Sweet, Loyal Chow Mix Looking for a Forever Home

Meet Bella, a gentle and loving 5-year-old Chow mix who is sure to steal your heart with her sweet nature and affectionate personality. Bella is a calm and friendly girl who enjoys being around people and has lived harmoniously with other dogs in the past. She`s looking for a loving home where she can relax, receive plenty of attention, and live her best life.

While Bella is incredibly sweet, she does have some unique traits and needs that her new family should be aware of. Bella has a strong prey drive, which means she cannot be homed with felines or small animals. She would do best in a household where she is the only one of her kind or with other dogs who match her calm and easy-going nature.

Training & Behavior Needs:

Bella is a very sweet and loyal dog, but she could benefit from some additional basic training. She is still working on some foundational commands and manners, so her new family will need to commit to reinforcing and improving her skills. Bella is very eager to please, and with the right guidance, she`ll make great progress!

Here’s what you need to know about Bella’s training needs:

Basic Training: Bella has the potential to be an excellent companion with the right guidance. She will need consistent work on basic commands like sit, stay, and come, and she`ll benefit from learning better leash manners. Bella does tend to pull on the leash a bit, so training sessions focused on walking politely on a leash will help her improve and make outings more enjoyable.

Mental Enrichment: Bella will thrive with an enrichment schedule—this means she will need a variety of activities to keep her mind active and engaged. This can include puzzle toys, treat-dispensing toys, basic obedience training, and other activities that challenge her. A solid routine that incorporates both physical exercise and mental stimulation will help her stay happy and content.

Socialization and Routine: Bella has lived well with other dogs in the past, so she would benefit from continued socialization. However, due to her prey drive, she should not be around cats or small animals. She is more than capable of being a wonderful companion in a household with other dogs, as long as they have a compatible temperament.

Why Bella?

Bella is a sweet, loyal, and calm dog who will bring warmth and affection to your home. Though she needs some help wi

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require potential adopters to fill out an pre-adoption application. If that application is approved, the dog/cat must be spayed/neutered before it leaves our shelter (if not already done). If it is a puppy under 4 months old, we allow it to go home with the adopters under a foster care agreement until it is old enough to be returned for spay/neuter. Kittens are allowed to leave before spay/neuter is done, but they must be done within a certain time frame.
Fees: Dogs/puppies range from $150-300, depending on if they came in already spayed/neutered or if we paid to have that done.
Cats range from $80 - $140, though we often have deals on older cats or cats that have been there a long time.
Kittens are $60 with $25 refunded once it has been spayed/neutered.
All adoptions include at least the first vaccination, deworming, de-fleaing, microchip ID, and 6 weeks of pet insurance.
