My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Marina, a sweet gal who has made so much progress learning her good dog skills and is ready to continue her journey in a loving home where her owner will continue her progress because she really, really wants to be someone's good dog. She thrives with dog savvy people who can read her body language and help her feel confident and comfortable. . Marina is food-motivated, which will be a great tool in building positive associations and boosting her confidence. Her ideal owners will be patient and willing to go at her pace to set her up for success. Potential adopters are encouraged to use resources like Fear Free Happy Homes and the free virtual Well-Socialized Pet Chat to support her good dog skill building. We also have resources to help you work effectivly with a dog like Marina. With the right guidance and a little time, Marina can become a very good dog who will make her owners proud. To learn more about Marina , stop by our San Diego campus to meet her! Bring a leash and collar in case she goes home with you. !

At SDHS:
Marina has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
