Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Here's Yukon! He is a beautiful white husky with startling blue eyes who showed up as a stray in a rural area. His foster family already had three dogs, a foster dog, three cats, and five children, but they felt like they couldn't leave him out in the woods to freeze, starve, or be hit by a car. so they took him in. He is being well taken care of in his foster home but their 15-year-old dog doesn't like him, so he is mostly confined to a small area in the living room. As you can imagine, this is difficult for an active breed like a husky! Yukon is being very tolerant and patient in this situation but he would love someone to adopt him ASAP so he can run and play as much as he needs to. Yukon gets along well with other dogs. He is house-trained and sleeps in his kennel all night as long as a human sleeps in the same room with him. He loves chew toys and will chase a tennis ball and bring it back. He isn't used to walking on a leash but is learning quickly. He would be a great hiking companion for an active person. His appointment to be neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped is coming up soon. Yukon is being fostered in the Huntsville, AL area. He can't wait to meet you!

More about this rescue
Friends of Rescue is a certified 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2009, consisting of volunteers who are devoted to saving shelter animals that are in danger of euthanasia. Southern shelters have a constant overflow of dogs and cats, little funding, and limited space. Once the animals arrive at the shelter, they have very little time. It is our goal to help save these adoptable animals and find loving individuals/families who will provide committed, FORever homes. We are NOT professional trainers or animal behaviorists; simply volunteers who are trying to save these animals from euthanasia. Each animal in our program is in a foster home and receives all age-appropriate vetting while in our care.
