I am FIV postive.

Walter is an 8 yr old former street veteran that came into the shelter needing to heal from that hard life: 2 broken legs, flea infested, emaciated, FIV positive. He is a resilient boy and fought through those trials. He has light scars, broken whiskers, a crooked ear, and a slight limp that tell the tale of his past.

Now he needs to retire to the indoor life due to being healthy but immunocompromised. He uses the litterbox well and loves people and is treat motivated. He likes to follow his people into the room they are socializing in and hang out for head scratches.

If you are looking for a new pet, Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Services shelter has a wide variety of animals to adopt; from dogs and cats, rabbits and guinea pigs, to the occasional snake and pot-bellied pigs.
