Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rusty, a muscular guy with a heart full of love! Rusty is a happy, playful, and affectionate pup who gets along well with other dogs and even lives harmoniously with rabbits in his foster home. He’s gentle and curious, often lying next to the rabbit pen to nap and watch them.
Rusty loves to play, especially with his foster brother, a Great Pyrenees. He’s a fan of using his paws like a boxer, adding a touch of charm to his playful personality. This smart boy already knows commands like “sit” and “paw,” is crate and potty trained, and is working on “down,” “leave it,” and loose leash walking. Rusty goes right into his crate when asked and is very responsive to his name, coming when called with ease.
A medium-energy guy, Rusty enjoys bursts of activity followed by long naps—preferably snuggled up with his favorite humans. He’s a big cuddle bug and loves giving hugs by standing on his hind legs, wrapping his paws around you, and resting his head on your shoulder. He’s also polite at mealtimes, never trying to steal food, and is happy to share his toys or bones when needed.
Rusty thrives on mental stimulation and enjoys food puzzles, enrichment activities, peanut butter, and yogurt. He’s friendly, curious, and well-mannered in public, greeting both friends and strangers with enthusiasm.
This brindle beauty is looking for a loving, playful home where he can get plenty of hugs, snuggles, and new adventures. If you’re ready for a loyal companion with a lot of love to give, Rusty is your guy!

ADOPTION DISCLAIMER: At Perfectly Paired Pitties (P3), we aim to provide accurate
information about all of our animals to the best of our abilities. That said, we cannot guarantee
that any dog is housebroken or crate trained and cannot promise any specifics regarding an
animal's breed, size, health, behavior, temperament, or other conditions. Our adoption fee does
not fully cover all vetting, medical care, food, supplies, or training costs. As we depend on
donations to provide for the animals in our care, we are unable to reduce or refund the adoption

More about this rescue
P3 is a united rescue effort to both save pitties and support veterans. At P3 we LOVE Pitties & we LOVE & RESPECT our Veterans! 2800 Pitties & Pittie Mixes are euthanized in overcrowded shelters every day, over 1 million every year. 22 Veterans commit suicide every day, over 8,030 per year. At P3 we find these numbers UNACCEPTABLE! P3 was created in March of 2024 with the goal of rescuing Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes from overcrowded shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia and providing the necessary training for them to provide emotional support, nightmare alerts, and pressure therapy during episodes of anxiety and stress so they can be paired with a Veteran struggling with PTSD reducing the risk of Veteran suicide. While we support our Veterans, our rescue is not limited to the placement of service dogs for Veterans only. Our Veterans program is only one aspect of what we do. We want to help EVERY pittie find the perfect furever family!
