Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Poppy, the dog of your dreams! Don't let her 8 lbs. size fool you, she got a world of love she's ready to share! Poppy loves to wear her sweaters and play fetch. She would do well with another small dog or calm large dog friend, or even a kitty. She does get a little nervous with loud noises and sudden movements so we recommend no small children. She can be a little shy at first, but warms up quickly with an open lap to cuddle up in!
Poppy has shown to be potty trained and crate trained and will use the restroom outside almost immediately when given the opportunity. She walks well on a leash and loves to ride in the car and go shopping with her human. She may be small but she does have some big energy once she's comfortable, but she's happiest spending time with her human however they want in that moment. Does Poppy sound like the pup for you? Apply today for a chance to meet her!
All Abandoned Pet Project Rescue adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. You can view all the adoptable pets and fill out an adoption application online on our website at bit.ly/APPRAdoptableDogs. For more information, you can email adopt@abandonedpetproject.org.

Interested adopter fills out an application online.
Adoption team reviews application, completes vet and landlord checks.
Adoption team will notify applicant if they are approved or declined, or if we need to redirect to a pet that is a better fit for the applicant or if the pet they applied for has other applicants in front of them.
If approved, adoption team will send an email connecting foster parent to adopter. We ask that the applicant and foster parent make initial contact within 48 hours of the meet & greet email going out.
If it seems like a fit over the phone then foster parents and potential adopter will set up a home visit.
After meet and greet, the foster and potential adopter will let the adoption team know how they would each like to proceed.
Note: We do not do onsite adoptions. Foster pets will return to the foster home after the meet and greet is complete, even if both parties want to move forward with adoption.
If a fit for both parties, the adoption team will send the adopter a link for adoption fee payment and an adoption contract.
Adoption team will let foster know once the adoption is complete and you are then free to coordinate handoff!
