Meet Lucy! This sweet senior girl was rescued and brought to us for a second chance at life. While she`s not thrilled with the shelter environment, Lucy truly shines in a home setting. She’s potty trained, great with other dogs, and has so much love to give. Senior dogs like Lucy can have a harder time adjusting to the stress of the shelter, but in the right home, she’s an absolute gem. Give this older sweetheart a chance, and we promise you won’t be sorry—she’s ready to be your loyal, loving companion!

The mission of the Watauga Humane Society is to provide the following:
- A well-equipped and appropriately staffed facility where the citizens of Watauga County can bring unwanted and abandoned animals;
- Relief of suffering among animals;
- Provisions for food, shelter, medical care, and love to homeless animals while they await permanent homes;
- Assistance with control of unwanted animals by offering low-cost spay/neuter services;
- Education to the public about responsible animal ownership and care.
