Hitchens I am so happy to see that you are reading my interview! After all, I am 12-years-old, and people usually only want youngsters. The interviewer lady (IL) told me that because I am a certified lap cat with a loving, affectionate nature, many people are seeking personality over youth. For example, she melted when I crawled into her lap and curled up for a lengthy cuddle. I eventually meandered around the room, sniffing the cages and greeting the other cats. But I soon scurried back to her and the comfort of my bed. I was three years old when I was first at HSHC because my owner`s health declined. A month later, I was adopted and have lived with my owner for nine years. My roommates included a six-year-old terrier (we tolerated each other), a nine-month-old golden doodle (we were play buddies), and an 18-year-old son who I let pet me all over. I like being held over your shoulder like a baby. We all lived in a multiple-level condo, and I had one top-entrance litterbox. During this time, I have experienced painful intermittent UTIs. This made having only one litterbox in one location pretty challenging. I tried to `go` in drains, like the bathtub, shower stall, or sink. But if you`ve ever had to go really bad and were far from the bathroom, you can understand my dilemma. Since being at the HSHC, I have not had any trouble making it to the litterbox. I have been eating Hill`s C/D Urinary prescription diet to help avoid stone and crystal formation. Giving me at least 2 litterboxes in separate locations will be crucial to my successful transition. Providing a small space with everything I need for the first few weeks will allow me to settle in at my own pace. I can`t wait to meet you! 2025 should be my best year! 12-31-24

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.
This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
