My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Canela is a sweet and loving 5-year-old dachshund mix who’s ready to bring joy to her forever home! This little lady loves playing with dogs and toys, and she’s the perfect companion who gets along with everyone she meets. Canela is also housetrained, making her an easy fit for any family.

Despite having a rough start with an ongoing skin condition, Canela is now in rescue and getting the care she deserves. She’s on her way to feeling her best and is as resilient as she is lovable. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and all-around wonderful dog, Canela is ready to fill your life with love and wagging tails!

Canela is available for foster to adopt as she will need regular vet checkups at our clinic in Duluth! Paw Project of Georgia will cover all her medical care while she is in foster to adopt to make sure she is in tip top shape before she can be adopted.

If you are interested in meeting this cutie, please fill out a Dog Questionnaire on our website!

More about this rescue

We are a nonprofit organization in Gwinnett County, Georgia. We have a low-cost vet clinic (not full service), spay/neuter ,a TNR Program, and a Rescue/Adopt Program.

We started this organization because we love animals and want to be the voice for those who have no voice, and also help pet retention in homes by offering affordable veterinary care.

We would love to have volunteers to help with in-home fostering (some for two week quarantines, others to keep cats/dogs until they are adopted), cleaning, adoption events, Trapping cats for TNR, recovering female feral cats after surgery, and many other things.
