He's heard whispers of "brrrrrr" weather coming and is determined to charm his way into a warm, cozy, loving home. With his 31 lb frame, Matty is ready to be your personal space heater. He has perfected the art of snuggling and promises to keep you warm, no matter how chilly.
In a world where people often pass by the many brown puppyish dogs at the shelter, Matty knew he had to stand out. His strategy? Unleash his sweet and silly "self" at every opportunity. Whether a playful wag of the tail, tongue out or a goofy face that melts hearts, Matty's ready to show you his unique charm. He loves walkies but quiet time with his human pals even more. If an animal is listed in foster care please call the shelter at (512) 549-5160 so we can assist you in making arrangements to meet the pet. The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
