Meet Dopey (named after Snow White’s dwarven friend) – also known as Dopey Doodle, Dopers, and Captain Dopes!
Dopey is a very special and unique rabbit. Overall, he is happy, gregarious, affectionate, and energetic. He loves to binky and zoom around his room, destroy paper bags and his cardboard house, and run around underneath his favorite fleece blankets. He has perfect litter box habits, is a voracious hay eater, and his curiosity knows no bounds. Dopey enjoys doing the “Dopey Dance,” which is when he bounces around his foster parents’ feet as they hop in a circle around him.
Dopey is also *the drama*: he charges at his foster parents for love and attention (and to trip them), runs at 100mph to get to his food, insists on sniffing his foster parents’ legs as they walk by (he will get sad if he is not allowed to do this), and loves toys that make noise. And if a toy doesn’t make noise, he’ll still manage to find a way to cause a ruckus. He loves exploring areas he’s not usually allowed into, and is currently obsessed with jumping into his foster parents’ bathtub while they get ready in the morning.
Found outside as a baby with his littermates, he had a tough time learning how to be a bunny. But after a lot of TLC and intensive behavioral training from his foster home, we are happy to report that Dopey is now an entirely different bun!
Despite all of his incredible improvement, Dopey’s communication style is just inherently a little different than other rabbits, and needs to go to a home who has a solid understanding of bunny behavior, body language, socialization, and communication. Dopey is not an aggressive or angry bunny, but he does have some lingering fear-based reactivity. His foster parents are more than happy to discuss his behavioral quirks with you. Due to his reactive nature, he is presently not a good bonding candidate.
Dopey is very energetic and requires a home that has the ability to let him have a large space, such as his own room or free-roam across the entire house.
We are so excited for Dopey to find his perfect forever home. Is it you? Apply to learn more about him today!
