My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy, (formally Shiny) through no fault of his own, was brought back for being too high energy. Clicker training was started and Buddy loved it. Cautious around young kids, doesn't know what to think about them. True to his nature, he loves to bark at things he has never seen.

It takes a minute for him to warm up to you once he meets you. Buddy was under socialized and that is not his fault. Buddy loves to go on sniffing walks, chasing squirrels, and anything the wind blows. Buddy is good with cats. He was is in a foster home with cats. He knows sit and leave it. Food motivated to make training fun. He adapts quickly now to new places, people, and things. If you are an active family with older kids looking to add a new member to your family, Buddy is your guy. He loves hugs and attention.

More about this rescue

We have a background in Dog Training through our for-profit company, For The Puppies Training Academy. We got our start in training while fostering for a local dog rescue. Over the course of a year and a half, our family fostered and trained more than one hundred (100) dogs. Given that experience and what we learned from further experiences since then, we decided to form For The Puppies Foundation. We are approaching the pet over-population and pet dumping problem from a completely different angle.
