My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED
Say hello to Duckie! She is a sweet, adorable, 40 lb, 2-year-old mixed breed who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA.

She is an energetic and affectionate pup eager to find her forever home. She would love an active home and would make a great adventure buddy. Her favorite activities include going on walks, playing tug-of-war, and having a good game of fetch. She absolutely loves chasing around, whether it’s a ball or her canine friends—just as long as they are medium to large-sized!

She is a quick learner with a passion for tricks, especially when there's a treat involved. She has mastered several commands like "Sit," "Paw," "Lie Down," and "Touch," which is where she will bop your palm with her nose. When it comes to toys, she is all about rope toys, any stuffed toys she can throw around, and of course, a peanut butter-filled Kong that keeps her entertained for hours. (Or a Pawpsicle)

Duckie LOVES to play with other pups! She would love a home with another playful dog or a home that has other dogs in their friend/family circle for her to socialize with. She would love a home with a securely fenced yard for her to run and play in a suburban or rural neighborhood. She does have a prey drive and would do best in a home without small animals/dogs, as she tends to get a little too excited around them.

If you’re looking for a playful companion who’s always up for cuddles and adventure, she might just be the one for you!

She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
