My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Abner! This sweet senior boy came to us in need of immediate medical care and had to be rushed to the emergency hospital while the vets tried to save his life. He has clearly had a rough life so far and his body shows the tale. He had two broken rotted toes and his jaw was previously broken, his eye is overtaken by a (thankfully non-painful) ulcer, and he has chronic kidney disease. Despite all of this, Abner made it out of the hospital and is living the big life in his foster home. We’ve discovered he is gentle, loving, and full of tail wags. He doesn’t seem to mind other dogs and is just happy to still be alive! Although we are working hard to resolve all of his medical needs, he will likely have to be on a kidney care diet for life.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Please submit an application, that is the first step to reach our adoption team and meet the animals.

2.
Interview

Our adoption team will be in touch to learn more about you and help you find the best match for your home and lifestyle.

3.
Home Check

Our adoption team will conduct a background check, call your vet and references, and do a virtual home check.

4.
Approve Application

Once you have been approved, our medical team will chat with you about any medical needs the pup has to ensure you are fully informed.

5.
Meet the Pet

Our adoption coordinator will set up an appointment for you to meet the pup(s). We require two meets with a 24 hour cool-down period between

Sign Adoption Contract

The morning of your final meet & greet, the adoption contract will be texted and emailed to you. It must be completed before you leave.

7.
Take the Pet Home

If the final meet goes well, all pups get along, and the contract is signed - you can take home your new pup. We also offer foster-to-adopt.

We do not charge adoption fees and rely solely on the generosity of our adopters and donors, as we do not believe in putting a price on a life.

Here they can comfortably live out their lives, be they measured in weeks, months or years. We will help any animal that is last left on the euthanasia list - no matter how sick or old they are.
