My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Hulu, I am a 5 year old, spayed female, short-haired chunky girl (16 pounds!). I was relinquished to MaxFund December 2024 by no fault of my own, and now I am looking for my fur-ever home!

I am super friendly, playful, and love attention! I like belly rubs (on my own terms) and scratchies! Sometimes I like to sit at the door and watch everyone walk by. Maybe I am hoping someone will come in to pet me!
I am overweight and am on a weight management diet. I love food a little too much! I would benefit from some exercise and extra play time!

I am ok around other cats, during my out time I hang out with a few of my kitty roommates. I seem to be ok around dogs, I just get a little scared.

In my previous home I had some litter box issues, the medical team is still running tests to see if it is caused by a medical issue. I am not medically cleared for adoption quite yet, but you can still come meet me!

If you think I would be a good fit for your home, please come to the shelter to meet me!
The shelter hours are Sunday - Monday, & Wednesday - Saturday (Closed Tuesday) 9:30 - 4:30, Closed 12:00 - 1:00 for lunch.

More about this shelter

The MaxFund is a non-profit organization that was established in May of 1988 to provide medical care for injured pets with no known owners, and to seek out new homes for these animals once they have recovered. The MaxFund is a no-kill dog and cat shelter. MaxFund assists hundreds of people and animals each year by trying to make the correct match between owner and pet. MaxFund adopts our animals to Colorado residents only.

The MaxFund is a TRUE no-kill shelter. There is no pre-sorting of animals into "adoptable" and "non-adoptable" categories, discarding the so-called "unadoptable." The MaxFund takes every animal it has the space for. EVERY animal is kept until its owner is found or it is placed in a new adoptive home.
