Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
We asked Ralph’s finder to write us a note about her time with him! Tune in to see if this little guy might be the one you are looking for!
Finding Ralph and his (now adopted) friend on my cold mountain road one night turned out to be the biggest blessing in disguise.
His soul is truly kind and loving, mellow and tender and is basically indifferent (in a good way) to everything that’s comes his way- Big dogs, small dogs, many cats, strangers, kids, loud sounds…nothing seems to phase him and he takes it all with a happy little thump of his tail. He can sleep in a crate just fine but also can be trusted to choose his own cozy spot for the night….but let’s face it, his favorite cozy spot is right next to his person. He walks on a leash like a gentleman and rides in a car like a champ and isn’t inclined to bark, even when my other two are- he’s basically bomb proof.
Come meet Ralph on the weekends! He will be onsite to meet potential adopters Sat-Sun 11-3!

More about this shelter
Humane Society for Inland Mendocino County, HSIMC, is a non-profit animal rescue and adoption center. Our team is dedicated to rescuing and placing abandoned and displaced animals into loving homes.
As a 501(c)(3), we receive no government funding and rely heavily on our community of supporters, grants, and fundraising.
We are located in Redwood Valley and hope you come visit us and the animals in our care. We also have many volunteer opportunities and invite you to join our team!
Volunteer orientation occurs the first Thursday and last Sunday of each month at 11am. Please check in at the front office, no appointment necessary. The orientation lasts about 45 minutes and anyone interested in dog walking can sign up for a 1:1 dog walking orientation with a senior volunteer or staff member. Our volunteers are welcome to volunteer anytime during open hours.
We hope to see you soon!
