Meet Rain, a beautiful and gentle mama cat who’s about a year old and ready to start a new chapter in her life. After bravely caring for her sweet kitten, Cloud, through the cold winter months, Rain is now looking for a loving home where she can relax and enjoy the comfort she deserves. Rain would do well in a home that can offer patience and understanding as she continues to adjust to life indoors. Whether she’s lounging in a cozy spot or enjoying a quiet moment with her humans, she’s sure to bring a sense of peace and comfort to any home.
How much does it cost to adopt: already fixed? Rain`s adoption base price is $110, which includes a free vet visit from one of our three area veterinary clinic partners: Alpena Veterinary Clinic, Switzer Veterinary Clinic, or Sunrise Veterinary Clinic, and the peace of mind of knowing your new furry family member is up-to-date on all standard age-appropriate vaccinations and preventative treatments, along with testing and a bag of adoption food. She was also vaccinated for rabies so a $25 charge has been added to cover the cost of the vaccine. The total cost to adopt Rain is $135.

All adoptions are preceeded by a brief interview and adopters are required to sign a contract and to spay/neuter if adopting an unaltered animal. Our fee includes vaccinations, microchip, one free grooming at Paul's Pet Care Services, spay/neuter deposit, and a free exam at any the vet of your choice.

The Huron Humane Society works to care for and find permanent homes for homeless dogs and cats of Alpena County. We provide for the medical and behavioral needs of the animals in our care. We can house up to 20 dogs and 60 cats at one time. We are about 85% privately funded and not affilitated with any other organiation.
