My name is Kaycee and I am a lover of life! My days are very enjoyable with a good routine of napping, out for pee and poo, play time and nap time! Rinse and repeat. I love my humans and love to cuddle and play with them, whether they are big or small. I am a good sleeper and love my crate but I may wake up during the night to do my business I am still working this out! I was born to be your adventurous sidekick! I have tons of energy to go on adventures, discover new activities and enjoy vast spaces! An apartment would cramp my style! I love to learn. I am curious about cats but they dont seem to like me as much oh well. Wouldnt you want a good boy like me to cuddle and enjoy life! 1.
Submit Application

Applications are submitted and reviewed against a pet bio that is prepared by the foster. This allows for a match of the family to the pet.

2.
Interview

Screening questions are completed to confirm match before meet and greet

3.
Meet the Pet

Dog up for adoption, the applicant and foster meet.

4.
Home Check

A virtual home visit along with 2 reference checks is done to confirm safe and suitable home (one reference is a vet if possible)

5.
Approve Application

A call with the applicant and adoption team is held to finalize, and then send contract.

6.
Sign Adoption Contract

Contract and addendum if needed is sent to the applicant.

7.
Pay Fee

After the adoption donation and contract are received, the adoption is considered final. Then pick up the new family member and take home

Additional adoption info

We use a team to cover different steps in the process so that we have input from several individuals to confirm dog/puppy is a fit in the new family and we have the correct forever home.

It Takes a Village is a small South-Eastern Ontario based, registered non-profit organization that focuses on finding homes for dogs in need. Our organization is foster based and is made up entirely of dedicated volunteers and experienced rescuers who have united to improve the lives of dogs who find themselves without a home. We believe in giving dogs in need a fresh start at a new life.

Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs in need. The happiness and success of the dogs in our rescue community is our priority and the reason we do what we do.
