My story

My, oh, Mylo is this boy a cutie! Mylo is a sweet and energetic six-month-old German Shepherd mix who arrived at the shelter in rough shape. He was suffering from an obstruction in his intestines and needed an exploratory surgery right away to ensure his survival. Our vet team got right to work and because of their efforts Mylo is now back to himself and has a great chance at a healthy life.

He`s an energetic shepherd who loves to explore and play with other pups and his two-legged friends. He`s a talkative fellow who lets you know when he wants some extra snuggles or some play time. He would love a home with other dogs and people to adventure with!

Mylo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him at The Babinski Foundation in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Tuesdays through Sundays from 8:30 to 5:00 PM!

If you are adopting a dog, we recommend a dog meet and greet with your current dogs.

Submit Application

Cat and Dog survey may be filled out online at babinskifoundation.org, or in person at the facility.

Approve Application

The staff will review your application! Please bring all necessary documents such as pet lease agreements signed by your landlord.

5.
Pay Fee

Dogs over a year: $250 Dogs under a year: $300 Cats over a year: $75 Cats under a year: $100

OUR MISSION

We strive to ensure a safe, healthy, and loving environment that will provide temporary shelter for abandoned, stray, and surrendered animals and to find each animal a new and prosperous home.
The Babinski Foundation is a private 501c3 animal shelter located in Pequot Lakes, MN. We are a safe place to surrender dogs and cats. We also are a stray drop-off facility for stray cats and dogs.

OUR STORY

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
