Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I’m a beautiful Siberian Husky mix who is approximately two years young and weighs 59 lbs. I’m as floofy as they come! When you first meet me, you’ll notice my soft, luxurious tricolor and tan coat, twinkling brown eyes, pearly white smile, and boopable nose. It’s very rare you’ll find me not wagging my tail or smiling ear to ear with a toy in my mouth. I am full of joy and playfulness, and my happy energy is quite contagious! I’m a shelter volunteer favorite and any of my volunteer buddies will tell you how special I truly am. 😄
The best part of my day is when a volunteer comes to my kennel to take me to my favorite place — outside! At times, I can be quite loud in my kennel, especially when I see other dogs being taken out before me (waiting is hard)!
Once I’m outside I’m on a mission to find the most squeakiest, squishiest, and fluffiest toy I can fit in my mouth! In between chasing toys, I love to get my energy out by running laps in the yard, but I always make time to check on my volunteer pal. I can keep myself entertained but boy, do I love those back scratches! There are a few select shelter doggos I enjoy running the fence line with, but if you do have a dog it’d be best for the staff to introduce us to see if perhaps we can be best fur-iends!
I walk well on leash but can pull when I smell something that needs investigating. I can be easily reminded to wait and walk at your pace. I love sticks, leaves, and taking in the fresh air! My volunteer pals say I’m great at listening and can be trained with consistency, patience, and of course yummy treats! I love training with treats, especially those jerky ones, and I take them very gently. I can “sit” and I’m working on “down” and bringing toys back more consistently (not just when I feel like it 😉).
I’m already vaccinated, spayed and microchipped and am ready to go home with you! So, if you’re looking for a companion who will fill your heart with joy, add some fun to your day, keep you company on adventures together, and love you more than all the squeaky toys and sticks in the world — I’m your gal! Can’t wait to meet you!

THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING If you are interested, please call the East County Animal Shelter at 925-803-7040 to see if this dog is still available.
Please browse our adoptable animals. We make every effort to keep our listings updated.
Each of our animals has contact information in the description - either referencing the phone number of the foster volunteer who is fostering the animal or East County Animal Shelter contact information if a shelter animal.
If you have questions, please use the contact information in the description directly. We attempt to forward emails sent to contact@tvar.org to the foster though it is not necessarily before the animal is adopted. Also, volunteers who monitor this email do not know the animals whereas the fosters do!
If a dog or puppy is in foster with TVAR, please fill out an adoption application (available here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TVAR/Dog). We consider each application and pick the best one for the animal in question. In general, we do not do out of area adoptions. Kittens do not need applications completed - just contact the foster!
If an animal is at ECAS, they have their own adoption process. Please go to ECAS (they are open daily 11:30am to 5:30pm except holidays) to meet the animal and learn about ECAS's adoption process.
All TVAR animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, treated for worms and fleas, and microchipped. Felines are FIV/FeLV tested. Many of our pets also come with a "packed bag" that can include a variety of goodies like bedding, food, toys, leashes, and even private training sessions with our professional trainers. Adoption fees vary by species. Our fee range is $120-$350. The foster volunteer can provide specifics for the animals in their care.

Go meet their pets

All of our adoptable dogs (and selected ECAS dogs) are available on our website and on adopt-a-pet.com.
Kittens adoptions take place every Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm at the Dublin PetSmart, pending availability. During kitten season (March to December), we have way more kittens than we could ever hope to post online, so come visit us at PetSmart to see our selection.
All of our adoptable animals can also be met/adopted by appointment made directly with the foster volunteers.

More about this rescue
Tri-Valley Animal Rescue (TVAR) was founded in 1992 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area). We primarily place shelter animals in foster care of TVAR volunteers while trying to find them permanent homes. Although we do not have a facility of our own, we help over 1000 animals find forever homes yearly through the hard work and dedication of our East County Animal Shelter shelter volunteers who socialize shelter animals daily and assist the public in selecting a pet to adopt.
We have a variety of volunteer programs including a shelter program and four foster programs. We are always looking for more volunteers - especially fosters. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please check out our volunteer page (https://www.tvar.org/volunteer/) for information.
