My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bunji! This lucky little guy was rescued by a good Samaritan and brought to STAR after being found outside. We don't know much about his history, but we think at one point he was hand-tame and would flourish with lots of attention, love, and frequent interaction. So far, he will step up when persuaded and will begrudgingly accept kisses onto his tiny little budgie belly. He is still working on transitioning over to a pelleted diet, but is being brave about trying "non-seed" food. Like most budgies, Bunji would thrive in a household with other bird friends and would love another budgie buddy to fly around with. Adoption fee: $15

We will review your application, and perform a background check, vet check and when applicable, a landlord check.

For most species, a meeting is required. For some species, multiple meetings may be needed or required.

Sign Adoption Contract

Once approved, sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

Whether interested in adopting a particular bird or not, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. From there, our adoption team will process your application (including background check, veterinarian check for all current animals, and a home visit)
We will not ship any of our adoptable birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius. We do not adopt to breeders. We are not able to adopt birds into homes that use Teflon product or smoke due to toxicity dangers.
