This little nugget is Hot Cocoa and don't let his size fool you, he is the boss! He knows what he wants and isn't afraid to let you know. We love this little guy but it does take some time to win him over, so potential adopters shouldn't be expecting doggy kisses upon their first meeting. He's a sassy little guy so he'll need an adopter who's willing to work with him on some of his challenging behaviors. Hot Cocoa would do best in a home where he's the only fur ball, and with older or no children.

We are a same-day adoption center, and an application does not put you on a list or hold an animal for you. If they are in Wantagh or in a foster home, please submit an online application and our team will reach out to further discuss the adoption process. Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and given their age-appropriate vaccines.

Please bring the following to your adoption appointment:

Photo ID with current address AND a copy of their utility bill with their current address.

Proof in Writing that Pets Are Welcome in the Building. This can be in the form of a lease, a letter from the landlord, or an email from the landlord.

Adopting a dog? Adopters must bring a leash, collar and harness.

Adopting a cat? Adopters must bring a sturdy, non-cardboard pet carrier. (Bedding optional but helpful)
