YOYO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Yoyo Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix
Approximate Weight: 33 lbs as of 12/16/24; he is still growing!
Gets Along With: Other dogs! He also did well with his foster's 10 and 15 year olds. He currently lives with a cat and barks when he sees him but does not try to chase - he lets the cat be.
Currently Living at: DC area boarding partner; would love a foster to stay with while looking for his forever home!
Yoyo is Looking For: His forever home! Through no fault of his own this handsome cutie landed in the shelter. He's barely out of puppyhood and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. He's eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And he'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved.
What My Foster Says About Me: Yoyo is a very playful, but also very chill 8-month old pup. He's great about going into his crate, he gets all of his meals in there and has spent time in it when his foster leaves the house. He does love to chew but is generally good about only chewing toys (he redirects easily if he is chewing something that he shouldn't be!). His favorite are toys that you can put treats in so that he can dig them out - it keeps him occupied for a while!
His foster compares him to a 'goofy teenage kid', he will be lying on the sofa, stretch and just slide off, looking surprised but not at all phased. He seeks affection by laying his head against you or laying on your legs if he can. He knows 'sit' and is working on 'down'. Yoyo is also super food motivated, which is great for training.
He has had exposure to the fosters cat - he will bark when he sees him but won't try to chase him - he lets the cat be. He's also doing great with the foster's resident dog - they'll have a big play session and then Yoyo will collapse for a nap.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
