My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Elsa is fairly new to us and is already fitting into our household.. She will not make waves with other pups and gets along just fine. She does not really play with them, respects their space. She is quiet, not really needy and self sufficient. She is a submissive gal, approx 4 yrs old. Fully vetted, walks fine on lead. She is very food driven, crate trained, housebroken and pad trained. She does have a limp in her right rear, xrays show an old hip injury. May benefit from surgery, but it is something she has had for a long time. We did start her on supplements. We are scheduling a trip to the vet for more info on that.
Lower energy gal, will be good for a retired person or couple who wants a companion and good friend. She is a great little dog, happy and grateful. Fostered in the Bradenton area, and ready to go!!

We require potential adopters to fill out an Adoption Application.When that is approved we can arrange for the prospective adopter to meet the dog they are interested in. We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.

You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue

We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.

It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
