Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
From her foster mom: Carlie is a sweetheart wrapped into a small package. She is a level 4 clinger and wants to be by your side all the time. She would prefer to be an only dog or at least your most affectionate dog. The only resource she is interested in guarding is affection. She will bully another dog away from you in order to have her favorite spot at your feet. That said, she will not bother another dog in the yard and has shown no interest in the cats. As long as she is right next to you. Although she may be older, she has the energy of a puppy and can run and play with the best of them. Please consider providing Carlie a human of her own in 2025.
Volunteer Notes: Carlie (A559531) was my bestie for a Doggie Day Out. Wait! Is she really a tiger with her perfect brindle coloring? She`s been known to jump and twist like a dolphin in her kennel to grab your attention. So is she a dolphin? Nope! Sweet Carlie is definitely a dog who has been known to hunt only lizards in the yard. She did take time from hunting to enjoy her peanut butter enrichment and a fun walk around the neighborhood. I had the pleasure of observing a truly inspiring senior dog, whose energy levels rivaled those of a much younger dog! She delighted in playing fetch with the football and, when not resting beside you, pursued lizard-hunting with gusto. Her day was capped off perfectly with a scrumptious homemade custard cone from Andy`s and a pupcup. Come visit this amazing girl to discover the full extent of her sweetness and loving personality.

Their adoption process
Additional adoption info
Orange County Animal Services has hundreds of adoptable pets at any given time. We operate on a first come, first serve basis to give everyone an equal opportunity.
We strive to place every pet in a furever home, which is why the first step of adoption from our shelter is coming to our location and interacting with the pet of your choice. Adoption applications can be filled out at our shelter once interaction has taken place and are not available online.
Once your application is approved, we will ask for payment of the adoption fee.
Standard adoption fees are $55 for dogs and $40 for cats. Ferrets are $40 to adopt. Pocket pets like rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters are $15 to adopt.
We ask interested adopters to please come prepared with photo identification.
We welcome adopters from out of county and state, but do not transport animals. Interaction is still required as part of the adoption process.
